B.8.   Training for Natura 2000 professionals

In 2019 three courses will be imparted in order to transfer project results to target audience and stakeholders (in particular to forest owners).

Objectives of the courses

•     Know the structure and functioning of mature forests, their associated biodiversity and their importance for conservation.
•     Prospect and quantify in situ forest maturity through standardized methodologies developed within the framework of the LIFE RedBosques project.
•     Know the forest management actions  that are currently adopted, aimed at conservation and adaptation to climate change.

Recipients
Forest managers and / or protected natural areas, companies and consultants, NGOs, forest owners, researchers and professionals interested in forest management with conservation and adaptation goals to climate change.

Costs
Tuition, lodging, maintenance and insurance costs are covered by the organization. Participants will only have to cover their own travel expenses to the place where the classes will take place.

Dates of the courses
In order to facilitate the attendance of the participants, the course will be replicated in three editions:

• 1st edition, February 18-March 24, 2019. Face-to-face sessions at the Parc Natural dels Ports (Tarragona) on 11, 12 and 13 March). Pre-registration open until February 10.
• 2nd edition, March 25-May 5, 2019. Face-to-face sessions in the Sierra de Cazorla, Segura and Las Villas Natural Park (Jaén) on April 24, 25 and 26. Pre-registration open until March 11.
•  3rd edition, May-June 2019. Face-to-face sessions at Monte de Valsaín (Segovia) in June (dates to be confirmed). Pre-registration open until April 20.
